18 Weeks

18 Weeks 2 Days
This past week, only when I am resting or trying to drift off, I have felt the baby move. Nothing that can be felt by a hand on the outside of my belly, but there are these little butterfly sensations that I feel. And as you can see from the picture above I am full swing into maternity clothes. Which I'm actually very much enjoying!

Also I have had that first burst of energy in which I find myself wanting everything ready for the baby to come home. And although I know there are showers planned, I really want to go buy everything right now. I am fully aware that I have almost 22 weeks to go, so I have time. Yet, I want everything out of the guest room so that it will be the nursery. However, this requires to rearrange other parts of the house and it did not settle well with my flustered self that Saturday only had 24 hours in it so we're no where near what I thought we could be. Much of that has to do with the fact that I can't lift most of the items that need to be moved. I also get tired really fast, so I found myself taking multiple breaks (often times falling asleep). It's actually kind of comical.

17 Weeks

We are 17 weeks. According to "The Bump" app on my phone Baby Montz is the size of an onion (averaging about 5.1 in, 5.9 oz). I love this part of the app because every week it gives a fruit or vegetable that is close to the size the baby is suppose to be. I actually have 3 apps on my phone that send me updates. The BumpWhat To Expect, and Baby Center (all can be found in the App Store on iPhone and were free when I downloaded them).

I went to the doctor at 16 weeks for Quad Screening and to listen to the baby's heartbeat. Quad Screening is where they test for the likelihood of carrying a child with certain conditions. We have not gotten the test results back. I see this test as a way to be prepared for if our child were to have a special condition and nothing more. The heartbeat was absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to hear it again.

At 20 weeks we will have the anatomy ultrasound (or level 2 ultrasound) of the baby and hopefully find out if Baby Montz is a boy or a girl. Can't wait!!! :)
